Abby Suhr, Webster Thomas
Suhr was a big hit in her rookie season on varsity last spring as a sophomore. She batted .406 with 26 hits, three doubles and five home runs. More of the same is expected this season.
“One of the most talented hitters I have ever coached in my 18 years,” said Emily Castro, who is in her fifth season as the Titans’ varsity coach. “She can hit to all areas of the field … is very well-respected by her teammates for her hard work, character and dedication. She is that player who pushes her teammates to give the best of themselves. It’s very inspiring.”

Playing for the first time over the weekend since their spring break trip to Florida, Nazareth split four Empire 8 Conference home games as St. George went 6-for-10 and slugged three home runs and knocked in 10 runs. In Sunday's doubleheader sweep of Elmira, St. George hit a three-run homer in a 9-1 win in the first game and then rocked a walk-off grand slam in a 10-1 win in the second game. St. George is batting .379 for the Golden Flyers (9-5) with a team-best 16 runs batted in.

Kyle Sacks hit a double to right center that broke the scoreless tie as Canaday came home. Evan Harasta followed as the next batter with a double of his own to right center that scored Sacks. Harasta would advance to third off a ground out by Matt Hinchy to the second baseman. With two outs, Connor Powers brought home Harasta with a single to right field, and gave the Danes a 3-0 lead.

TROY, AL – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, softball team dropped a pair of games on Saturday as the Bulls lost to North Florida, 6-5, and then they lost in five innings to the host Troy, 11-0.
Sophomore Savanna Norcio opened the inning with a triple down the right field line, but remained there with two outs when freshman Kelsey Johnson (Mercy) came on as a pinch hitter and scored Norcio on an infield single. It was the first hit and run batted in for Johnson.
